University offers secured at Cambridge, New York, Edinburgh, Bristol and many more Russell Group universities 2019
We are delighted to share the university offers that have been achieved by a number of our Year 13 pupils including an offer from Cambridge University to study Archaeology, a scholarship worth $250,000 to study at New York University, Abu Dhabi majoring in Engineering and a significant number of Russell Group university offers.
After a number of gruelling interviews one of our pupils has been selected to be one of the 150 programme scholars from 1,000 applicants for the first stage of the Sutton Trust USA programme. After sitting the American Aptitude test and achieving an extremely high score, our pupil was chosen to go for early entry and was incredibly fortunate to receive a well-deserved fully funded place at NYU where there is only a 2.1% acceptance rate.
Another pupil has received an offer of A*AA from Cambridge to read Archaeology. Preparation included completion of an essay following by a day of interviews with a number of Professors. Trinity College is known for being an academic powerhouse: of the 90 Nobel Prizes won by members of Cambridge University, Trinity alone is responsible for 32.
Our pupils have also received a significant number of offers from Russell Group universities including Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Durham, Exeter, Kings College London and Warwick. The Russell Group represents 24 leading UK universities which are committed to maintaining the very best research, an outstanding teaching and learning experience and unrivalled links with business and the public sector.
We are very proud of these fantastic opportunities that our pupils are pursuing and hope that this will inspire our younger pupils. If any Year 9 or Year 10 pupils are interested in applying to US universities they need to speak to the Sixth Form Team as soon as possible.
